Rajshahi, Mar 18 (V7N) - A police constable named Abu Hanif was stabbed while conducting an anti-drug operation in Charghat, Rajshahi. The attack took place around 8:45 pm on Sunday (March 17) in Maria village of the upazila. Abu Hanif was a member of the District Detective Branch (DB) of the police.

According to Rafiqul Alam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch), a DB police team launched an anti-drug raid in Maria village at night. During the operation, drug dealers organized and attacked the police, stabbing Abu Hanif. When locals attempted to intervene, a man named Md. Sajib was also injured.

After receiving reports of the attack, additional police forces rushed to the scene and launched an immediate operation. Four drug dealers were arrested, and 400 pieces of yaba tablets were recovered from their possession.

Both Abu Hanif and Sajib were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) Hospital in critical condition. A case has been filed against the attackers, and the police operation is ongoing to apprehend others involved.
