Jhalakathi, Mar 23 (V7N)– Project officials, employees, teachers, and caretakers of the mosque-based children and mass education program in Jhalakathi formed a human chain and held a rally on Sunday afternoon, demanding the approval of the program's 8th stage and improved working conditions.

The hour-long human chain, organized by the Oikya Parishad of the Mosque-Based Children and Mass Education Project, took place in front of the Jhalakathi Press Club. The protesters presented a five-point demand to the government.

"In Jhalakathi, project officials, employees, teachers and caretakers formed a human chain and held a rally demanding 5 points, including the passage of the mosque-based children and mass education program (8th stage) under the Islamic Foundation," a protest spokesperson confirmed.

Key demands included:

  • Cancellation of the outsourcing process for teachers and employees.
  • Inclusion of all project personnel in the revenue department.
  • Inclusion of caretakers in the government salary scale.
  • An increase in teachers' honorariums.
  • Immediate project approval before Eid, along with the payment of all arrears, salaries, and allowances.

Speakers at the human chain, including Field Officer Md. Abdullah Al Hadi, Master Trainer Md. Shahabuddin, Field Supervisor Md. Shahabuddin, and Md. Asadur Rahman Manna, emphasized the urgency of their demands.

"The speakers said that the outsourcing process of teachers and employees should be canceled, all the project personnel should be included in the revenue department, caretakers should be included in the government salary scale, teachers' honorarium should be increased, and the project should be approved before Eid and all the arrears and salaries and allowances should be paid," a local source reported.

Following the human chain, the teachers submitted a memorandum to the Chief Advisor through the District Commissioner, seeking prompt action on their demands.
