Tangail, July 10 (V7N)- A newborn baby has been rescued from the Basail upazila in Tangail.
 
On Monday (July 8) around midnight, auto-rickshaw driver Kazi Robin rescued the newborn girl from in front of a mosque in the Talukdar Bari area of West Pauli in the Habla Union of the upazila.
 
The newborn is currently under the care of Kazi Robin and his wife Mim Akter, residents of West Pauli in the Habla Union.
 
It is reported that auto-rickshaw driver Kazi Robin heard a crying sound while fishing on Monday night near the mosque in the Talukdar Bari area of West Pauli. He found the baby inside a shopping bag. He then informed the locals and, with their presence, rescued the baby and took her home. That night, he informed the local UP Chairman and UP member. The matter was then reported to the Upazila Executive Officer and the Social Services Office. The baby was taken to the Upazila Health Complex for medical treatment on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Local UP member Fazlul Haque said, "While fishing, auto-rickshaw driver Robin found the baby. After consulting with the Upazila Executive Officer’s office and the Social Services Office, the baby was sent to the Upazila Health Complex through Robin and his wife."
 
Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Shah Rukh Khan said, "The baby will be sent to the district committee of the District Social Services Office. The District Commissioner will make a decision regarding the baby."
 
It is worth mentioning that on the morning of July 3, another newborn boy was rescued from the bathhouse and toilet area of expatriate Sattar Mia's house in Kashil Madhyapara of the same upazila.
