Dhaka, Feb 08 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced a series of nationwide public meetings set to begin on February 11, covering all 64 districts of the country within 10 days. This announcement was made by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi during an emergency press conference at the party's headquarters in Nayapaltan, Dhaka, on Saturday afternoon (February 8).
Rizvi stated that the initiative is part of BNP's ongoing efforts to engage with the public and address key national issues. He criticized the government's inaction against former Gazipur Mayor Jahangir, accusing him of continuing conspiracies against the country. "The government's failure to bring him under the law reflects a broader failure in governance," Rizvi asserted.
In his remarks, Rizvi emphasized that the BNP wants the government to succeed, but questioned whether the current administration shares the same desire. He accused former police chief Benazir Ahmed of conspiring with police members aligned with what he described as fascist forces, warning that such alliances pose a serious threat to the nation's stability.
Rizvi also demanded the identification of collaborators within various levels of the administration, highlighting the need for transparency and accountability in the government’s dealings.
The upcoming public meetings are expected to address these issues and more, as BNP mobilizes support across the country in what could become a significant political movement in the coming weeks.
