Dhaka, Mar 10 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has accused the interim government of taking BNP’s allegations personally and, in some cases, seeking revenge through various tactics.
Speaking at a Women's Party protest in Nayapaltan on Monday, Rizvi criticized the government’s handling of recent rape incidents, including the tragic case in Magura, and demanded swift justice for the victims.
Rizvi expressed grave concerns about the safety of women and children in Bangladesh, stating, “There is no guarantee that any girl child will return home safely.”
He also alleged that students are being directed to influence various ministries, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP) offices. “The students’ job is to protest on campus, not to lobby and supervise DC-SP offices,” he remarked.
Rizvi questioned how law and order would be maintained if student demands were prioritized over governance. He urged national unity to ensure exemplary punishment for rapists, emphasizing that justice must be served swiftly.
His comments come amid heightened political tensions and growing public outrage over increasing cases of violence against women across the country.
