Dhaka, Oct 10 (V7N) – The Islamic Workers’ Movement organized a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on Friday (October 10) afternoon, marking its founding anniversary and raising four key demands, including justice, political reforms, and elections under the proportional representation (PR) system.

Despite inclement weather, leaders and activists gathered at the venue from the morning, showing strong support for the organization’s agenda.

Speaking at the rally, the leaders emphasized the need to try those involved in misdeeds during the previous government’s tenure before conducting elections under the PR system in both houses of parliament. They also stressed that necessary state reforms must be completed to ensure fairness and justice.

The organization warned that if the government does not act sincerely on these demands, larger programs and actions will be launched in the future.

Leaders further stated that although students and the public had previously ousted the government to prevent discrimination, inequalities persist at various levels of society. They insisted that rights cannot be properly established without implementing Islamic principles.
