MIAMI, Jan 23, (V7N) – United States head coach Mauricio Pochettino hailed his youthful squad's performance after a convincing 3-0 win over Costa Rica in a friendly at the Inter & Co Stadium in Orlando on Wednesday.

The victory marked the conclusion of a productive January training camp, with goals from Major League Soccer (MLS) talents Brian White, Caden Clark, and Patrick Agyemang sealing the result.

The US followed up their 3-1 win over Venezuela on Saturday with another dominant display, despite being without their Europe-based players due to the non-FIFA window for international fixtures.

First Goal: Brian White opened the scoring in the 21st minute, converting a precise through ball from Diego Luna with a low shot into the bottom corner.

Second Goal: Montreal midfielder Caden Clark extended the lead in the 77th minute.

Third Goal: Charlotte FC striker Patrick Agyemang added the final flourish with a powerful strike in the 90th minute.

Pochettino Praises Teamwork and Attitude

Reflecting on the game, Pochettino expressed delight at how quickly his squad adapted to his system.

“It doesn’t feel like we’ve been working together for just a couple of weeks – it looks like six months,” said Pochettino. “Their attitude and ability to adapt to new ideas have been amazing.”

Pochettino will now shift his focus to the CONCACAF Nations League semi-final against Panama in March. The coach hinted that several players from the January camp could be in contention for the tournament.

“We now have too many players in our mind,” he joked. “I told them to take these games seriously because their performance could influence future selections.”

With a blend of MLS and European-based talent, the US will aim to continue their impressive form in the Nations League finals in Los Angeles.
