Dhaka, Feb 15, (V7N) - Dhaka Metro Rail has set a new record by transporting more than 4 lakh (400,000) passengers in a single day. Previously, the highest number of passengers transported in one day was 3.5 lakh (350,000).
This milestone was reported by the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the organization responsible for operating the metro, on its verified Facebook page at 11 PM on Friday. The increase in ridership indicates growing popularity and trust in the metro system as a reliable mode of transportation in the capital.
DMTCL officials expressed their satisfaction with the significant rise in passenger numbers and emphasized their commitment to improving services to accommodate the rising demand. They also assured commuters of continued efforts to ensure a safe and efficient travel experience.
This achievement is seen as a significant step toward reducing traffic congestion and promoting sustainable public transport in Dhaka.
