Jhalkathi, Feb 21 (V7N) – The body of a missing auto driver, Mizan Howlader (28), was recovered in an advanced state of decay 22 days after his disappearance in Nalchity, Jhalkathi. The discovery was made on Thursday, February 20, around noon in the Rayapur Botal area of Mogar Union.
According to the Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Nalchity police station, Mohammad Ashraf Ali, Mizan Howlader’s body was found by a local person who was cutting grass. Upon closer inspection, villagers identified the body by the clothes Mizan was wearing.
Mizan Howlader, the son of Abdul Salam Howlader, had been missing since the afternoon of January 29. He was last seen driving an auto rickshaw belonging to Syed Abul Kalam, who confirmed that Mizan had been working for him. Mizan did not return home that night, and despite an extensive search by his family and relatives, he could not be found.
Syed Abul Kalam, the owner of the rickshaw, shared that his employee’s sudden disappearance had left him concerned and clueless about Mizan's whereabouts. After multiple attempts to locate him, Mizan’s body was finally found over three weeks later.
The police have recovered the body, and it has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. Local authorities have assured that necessary legal actions will be taken based on the findings.
The incident has left the local community in shock and grief, as they await further investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mizan Howlader’s untimely demise.
