Dhaka, Feb 22, (V7N) – In the capital’s Mirpur Section 10, Block A, a grocery store named ‘Ma Moni’ was robbed in the early hours of Thursday. Around 4:20 AM, three individuals arrived in a luxury private car, as captured in CCTV footage. The men exited the vehicle one by one and began cutting the store’s lock. After unlocking it, they left the scene.

Minutes later, the same car returned. The robbers opened the shutter, took the cash box, cigarette packs, and several other items, which they loaded into the car.

The same group also carried out similar robberies at three nearby shops. Their spree continued until around 5:00 AM, with two houses in the area also targeted.

Arman Hossain, the owner of ‘Ma Moni’ store, told the media that upon his arrival Friday morning, he found the shutter locked but the lock broken. The cash box and several items were missing. Similarly, other businesses, including Ariful Islam’s Punjabi store and Rubel’s Salman Biryani House, were also robbed in the same manner.

Rubel Mia, another shopkeeper, reported the incident to the police, who later gathered evidence. “I’ve been running my store here for 28 years, and this is the first time something like this has happened. They took goods worth about Tk 1.5 lakh, including cash. My apartment is above the store. I closed the shop around 12:15 AM, and the way they managed to rob it is unbelievable. We feel unsafe. The authorities must identify the culprits and ensure better security,” he added.

CCTV footage clearly shows the robbers in action. Three individuals are visible—one wearing green attire and sneakers. One of them initially stood outside while the other two entered the store and removed stolen goods one by one.
