Memphis, Aug 10 (V7N) – The third round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship reached its conclusion late Saturday after heavy rain forced the suspension of play, postponing the completion of the second round for 21 golfers until Saturday morning.

England’s Tommy Fleetwood maintained his edge atop the leaderboard with a 1-under 69 in the third round, elevating his total to 14-under for the tournament. He enters the final round with a slim one-stroke lead over fellow Englishman Justin Rose (13-under) and two strokes ahead of World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who surged into contention with a stellar 65 on Saturday.

Fleetwood, who held a three-stroke advantage over Rose entering Round 3, encountered early turbulence including a double bogey on the second hole but regrouped with a strong back nine performance. A bogey on the 18th narrowed his lead as Rose, with birdies on 16 and 18, closed in.

Scheffler’s Saturday 65 featured six birdies and just one bogey, placing him firmly in the hunt.

This is the opening event of the 2025 FedEx Cup Playoffs, staged at TPC Southwind in Memphis. The tournament field is composed of the top 69 players vying for a spot in next week’s BMW Championship.
