Dhaka, August 13 (V7N) — One more person has died from dengue in the past 24 hours, while 325 new patients have been hospitalized across the country, according to a press release from the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The release also confirmed that 297 patients were discharged from hospitals during the same period. So far in 2025, dengue has claimed 104 lives, with a total of 23,930 patients recovering after treatment in hospitals.
Of the recovered patients, 58.9% were male and 41.1% female.
As per official data, from January 1 to August 13, 2025, a total of 101,214 dengue cases have been recorded nationwide, with 575 confirmed deaths.
In comparison, during the full year of 2023, dengue infections reached an all-time high with 321,179 hospital admissions and 1,705 deaths — marking it the deadliest dengue outbreak in the country’s history.
Health authorities continue to urge the public to remain vigilant, eliminate mosquito breeding grounds, and seek prompt medical attention if symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, or body pain arise.
