Ukhiya, Oct 26 (V7N) — In a major anti-narcotics operation, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-15) has arrested a female drug trafficker and seized a large quantity of yaba tablets from Balukhali Rohingya Camp in Ukhiya upazila.
The raid took place early on Saturday morning in Block D-11 of the camp. The suspect, identified as 50-year-old Dilbahar, widow of the late Ayub and resident of D-11, was found in possession of 164,456 yaba tablets. Following her arrest, she was handed over to the Ukhiya Police Station.
Sources familiar with the operation stated that Dilbahar had been storing a significant quantity of yaba tablets within her residence in the camp. Acting on intelligence, RAB-15 conducted a joint operation and successfully apprehended her along with the drugs.
Ukhiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziaul Haque confirmed the arrest and stated that a case has been filed against the suspect under the Narcotics Control Act.
RAB-15 officials emphasized that operations to prevent drug trafficking and suppress criminal networks in the region will continue. They also highlighted that such actions are part of a broader strategy to maintain law and order in areas prone to illicit activities.
Authorities are investigating potential links between the arrested individual and larger trafficking networks to ensure the dismantling of organized drug operations in the Rohingya camp and surrounding regions.
