Bagerhat, Feb 17 (V7N) – BNP leader Kazi Khairuzzaman Shipon, candidate for Bagerhat-4 (Morelganj-Sharankhola), emphasized the importance of farmers, stating, “If the farmers survive, the country will survive.”

Speaking as the chief guest at a farmers' rally at Ballibunia Union Parishad Ground on Saturday evening, he said that BNP founder Ziaur Rahman always prioritized farmers, leading to an agricultural revolution during BNP’s tenure.

The rally, organized by Morelganj BNP, was presided over by Union BNP President Md. Arif Sikder. Special speeches were delivered by District Krishak Dal Convener Asaduzzaman Jewel, Upazila BNP Joint Convener Shamim Ahsan Fakir, and Upazila Krishak Dal President Md. Joynal Abedin, among others.

Kazi Shipon also highlighted Tarique Rahman’s 31-point state reform plan, stressing that farmers’ issues are a priority. He called on the interim government to ensure fair elections and transfer power to an elected government.
