Barcelona, May 03 (V7N) — FC Barcelona moved to the brink of securing their second consecutive La Liga title after a dramatic 2-1 victory over CA Osasuna, sealed by two late goals on Saturday.

After a long goalless spell, Robert Lewandowski broke the deadlock in the 81st minute, heading in a cross from the right. Just five minutes later, Ferran Torres doubled the lead with a composed finish, effectively securing the win for the Catalan side.

The victory takes Barcelona to 88 points at the top of the table with four matches remaining, placing them 14 points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid CF, who still have a game in hand.

Barcelona could officially be crowned champions for the second consecutive season if Real Madrid fails to defeat RCD Espanyol on Sunday (May 3).

Osasuna pulled one back late in the match when Raúl García scored with a close-range header in the 88th minute, but it proved insufficient to change the outcome.

Despite the defeat, Osasuna showed attacking intent throughout the match, but Barcelona’s goalkeeper Joan García made several crucial saves to preserve his side’s lead.

Osasuna now sit 10th in the standings with 42 points, two points behind RC Celta de Vigo in the race for European qualification.
