Habiganj, Mar 17 (V7N)– Saiham Group, a leading Bangladeshi exporting industrial enterprise, has commenced its annual distribution of Iftar items to 20,000 families in Habiganj.

The initiative, spearheaded by Saiham Group Chairman Alhaj Syed Mohammad Faisal and funded by the company, aims to support underprivileged families during the holy month of Ramadan. Saiham Group Managing Director Engineer Syed Md. Ishtiaq and former Upazila Chairman Syed Md. Shahjahan initiated the distribution on Sunday morning in Dharmaghar, Chaumuhani, and Bahra Unions of Madhabpur Upazila.

This year, as in previous years, Saiham Group is distributing Iftar items to impoverished and vulnerable individuals across 11 unions and 1 municipality in Madhabpur Upazila, and 10 unions and 1 municipality in Chunarughat Upazila.

Shamsul Islam Kamal, president of the Upazila BNP in Madhabpur and former chairman of Dharmaghar Union, stated that the initiative was launched to assist those in need who struggle to afford proper Iftar meals. He acknowledged the leadership of Syed Md. Faisal, former Member of Parliament for Habiganj-4, in organizing this humanitarian effort.

Local leaders and prominent figures from each village have compiled lists of needy individuals, ensuring that Iftar items are delivered directly to their doorsteps within a day or two.

Syed Ishtiaq, Managing Director of Saiham Group, emphasized the company's commitment to serving humanity, inspired by Chairman Syed Md. Faisal. He highlighted Saiham's consistent support for communities during various events, including Eid, Puja, and natural disasters, regardless of political affiliation. He also spoke of the company's contribution to local development through the establishment of an industrial factory in Noapara village, providing employment to thousands.

Syed Md. Shahjahan, Director of Saiham and former Upazila Chairman, reiterated the company's focus on local development and its dedication to promoting human welfare and peace.

This distribution effort underscores Saiham Group's ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in Habiganj during Ramadan.
